Although we make every effort to keep our items in stock at The Mustard Seed, out of stock items can take an average of one month or more to replace. What is a Wire-Wrapped Rosary Referred to as Heirloom Quality?
Compared to traditional linked rosaries, the ancient technique of wire-wrapping secures the beads with wrapped loops. It adds extra space between the beads resulting in a more comfortable rosary. These rosaries are often referred to as heirloom quality because of their added durability resulting from this specialty construction. Cage-wrapping is a variation of the wire wrapping technique that can be used to showcase Pater beads with a wire wrapped across the bead in a gentle swirl.

How Handcrafted Rosaries Compare to Manufactured Rosaries:
Most manufactured rosaries are made by machine with pliable wire in less than a minute. Decades do not often line up and links can bend or even come apart with use. By comparison, handcrafted rosaries are secured by hand, one bead at a time. Beads are attached by creating a wire loop which is linked to subsequent beaded loops. Sturdy wire, chain and links ensure a reliable rosary for many years of prayer.
